Hey, it's Mike with DirtKiller.com. Let's kill some dirt! Today. We're gonna take a look at the trap wash system. This system is very simple. Basically what it does is heats up water. So crabbers and lobstermen can clean their traps. Once the water's heated, all they have to do is take the traps, soak it for a bit, pull it out, shake it out, move on to the next one. It's a much more efficient process than just pressure washing. What's also nice is that it's hot water. So that means that the bacteria and buildup on the crab pots and the lobster pots is actually being killed down at a very micro level. And it should keep your pots and traps cleaner, longer. Now let's take a look at the system in a little bit more detail. Right here is the heart of the beast. If you will, it is the Hot Link.

What this does is it just heats up cold water. It heats water to 125 degree heat rise. That means that if you start at 30 degrees, you can get the end water to be 155 degrees. If you start at 80 degrees, you can get it up to 205 degrees. The most this machine will do is 210 degrees. Now that's pretty hot. For those of you who don't know water boils at 212 degrees. So, you're effectively creating boiling water in the trap wash itself. It's very good at cleaning crab pots and lobster pots. Now another nice feature is the pump, that pumps the water from the tank into the system, we bolted that on with four simple bolts. It's very easy to replace. They do break on occasion. You do have accidents. So if you have to replace the pump itself, it's pretty easy to do.

Additionally, we included cam locks, as we can see here, cam locks are a really great feature. This allows you to disconnect the plumbing very quickly and very easily as we can see. You just undo it, stow it on the machine, and then you can wheel the machine away. Easy peasy. Another feature about the pump is that it has a fuse down at the bottom. So if there is something wrong with the pump, that's always the first thing to check is the fuse. Finally, and this is important, because you're gonna need to clean this once in awhile, is the system comes with a filter for the water out and into the hot water system. You don't want your hot water, Hot Link to get all that goo and dirt and grim inside of it. You just want as clean as water as possible. So that's what the filters for. So that's it. That is our trap wash system. It comes with the hot link and all the plumbing. The tank is not included. As we found, most of our customers have their own type of tank and that they want to use something different
